Washington Spirit and USWNT forward Trinity Rodman signed a three-year contract extension Thursday that makes her the highest-paid female soccer player in the world. The new deal comes with a salary of over $1 million annually.

When Rodman joined the national team in 2022, veterans such as Heaps, Becky Sauerbrunn and Megan Rapinoe were the voices of leadership and motivation. Last year, Naomi Girma, Rose Lavelle and Emily Sonnett stepped into the captain’s role when Heaps wasn’t on the field.
