Lateral Pivot Shift Test for ACL Tears The Lateral Pivot-Shift test is the most specific of all ACL tests with a specificity of 98% with a weak sensitivity of 24%. The test needs some practice to perform and makes use of the iliotibial band which shifts its function from a knee extensor to a knee flexor. El paciente colocado boca arriba, el terapeuta toma la tibia y empuja contra el fémur flexionando la rodilla y rotación externa forzando la rodilla hacia valgo. Si el paciente tiene una lesión del ligamento cruzado anterior, se notara un desplazamiento anormal de la tibia respecto al fémur (tipo salto).
